ABOUT GARASUMORI

Garasumori is unique technique called “Nagoya Painting” featuring overglaze pottery decorations.
One of the representative techniques is “Dekomori”, in which a well refined handmade tool, known as “kappa”, is used to trail drawing lines to a white base, which is mainly made of porcelain, Then, before the wet trails have dried, glittering glass powder is layered on the top of them. Hence the name “Garasumori”(Garasu=Glass).
