Special exhibition "Tokaido and Narumi-shuku"
In January of 1601, Tokugawa Ieyasu issued red seal letters to post towns along the Tokaido road, and Narumi became one of them.
The museum uses artefacts handed down by the Chiyokura family to show how Narumi flourished as a post town throughout the Edo period.
The main exhibits include a red seal letter from Tokugawa Ieyasu addressed to Narumi, a register of lodgings for various daimyo, a lacquer-e high pillow, the Chiyokura family diary (when important people stayed in Narumi), a palanquin and other items that have never been on public display before.
