Shachi Jojo
Nagoya Castle is famous around Japan, appearing in the classic folk song Ise Ondo with the lyric "Nagoya in Owari is upheld by its castle." The castle's symbols, the Kinshachi—golden tiger-fish roof ornaments—descend on Kinshachi Yokocho shopping area! The Yoshinao Zone in that very shopping space is home to Shachi Jojo, a shop selling all sorts of Kinshachi merchandise.
The store's Kinshachi was carved in 1957 by the late Buddhist sculptor Hayase Keiun, creating its main component with cypress in the hopes of the main tower keep's reconstruction after its destruction during an air raid in 1945.
