What is Wadaiko~Japanese drum~?

Wadaiko is a type of percussion instrument and a collective term for Japanese drums. Made with a wooden body and stretched with skin, it produces sound through vibrations. The tone varies depending on the materials, size, and length of the body.
Wadaiko is said to have existed since the Jomon period, over 2,000 years ago.
These ancient drums have been used in various contexts such as Buddhist chanting at temples, starting signals for sumo matches and theatrical performances, festival music, and Bon dances.
Experience the diverse sounds by playing various types of Wadaiko!
